Search Engines: are use to search the internet to find information about specific topics. The key to success using a search engine is learning how to narrow or refine a search. Finding the right keyword or words will increase your changes of finding the right information.

Can you find some of the items on your web site?

1. E-mail address
2. Revision date available or current (has been dated)
3. Copyright date
4. Own by the author, organization, educational institution, museum, university, government agency or professional organization (url ends in edu or gov)
5. Security (Publisher is the agency operating the (server)
6. Has hypertext links to other places
7. Has an author or editor
8. Does the information compare to other sources?
9. Is it an on-line encyclopedia such as World Book online?
10. Does it have a bibliography or citations?
